Based in the heart of the beautiful village of historic Chaddesley Corbett, here is not your average florist but a place where special flowers in succulent colours are combined for all of life's events with the kind of old fashioned personal service that you may have thought had disappeared.
Come in and watch your flowers brought to life in front of you in Helen's skilled hands, not put together in a back room where you can't see what's going on. Helen says "I just love all of what I do running my little buisness and I hope my passion for flowers, especially English, comes across to you in my work".
In addition to flowers and plants we sell a selection of exclusive gifts including cards for all occasions, floral accessories and vases, candles, locally made bridal gifts and jewllery. Stock is constantly changing so call in to see what's in this week.
Our family-run market garden is just half a mile away, which ensures a constant supply of air-mile-free foliages such as eucalaptus, magnolia, herbs, and English country garden leaves year round.
During the later winter we start with flowers: Anemone, pinks and ranunculus moving into spring we grow tulips, alstromeria, calla lily, scabious, then in the summer months come the old fashioned English classics of delphinium, sweet peas, trachillium and in the autumn colourful chrysanthemum, dahlia and sunflowers.
Picture perfect. The Old Malthouse has had many past lives from a house, a Youth Hostel through the 1950's and 1960's, an antiques shop, second hand evening dress boutique and a shoe and gift shop.
But for the last 10 years it has been home to the flower room* and it works perfectly as a florist. Cool in summer, cosy in winter, querky spaces to display, a constantly changing window display which brings smiles to faces and gets wonderful comments every week. Come along and see.
